To mark Morocco’s new national holiday on October 31, Youssef Fahmi Idrissi presents an original song celebrating the country’s unity and inviting generations to sing together.
Some dates make history. Others live on in our memories through music.
“With Aïd Al Wahda, I wanted to give October 31 a melody, so that this new national holiday would become more than just a date on the calendar. I wanted it to become a song that children would grow up singing.”
Youssef Fahmi Idrissi
It was with this vision that singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Youssef Fahmi Idrissi wrote and composed “Aïd Al Wahda” (عيد الوحدة), a song dedicated to Morocco’s Unity Day, which the country will celebrate for the first time on October 31, 2026.
Released on October 2, 2026, the song is available on major music streaming platforms.

October 31: A Date to Pass Down to Future Generations
On October 31, 2025, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 2797, marking an important milestone in the Sahara issue. Just days later, on November 4, a royal decision established October 31 as a new Moroccan national holiday, named Aïd Al Wahda, or Unity Day.
Separate from the anniversary of the Green March, commemorated every November 6, this new national holiday holds special meaning for Moroccans.
For Youssef Fahmi Idrissi, music can help keep this date alive in the collective memory and pass its significance on to future generations.
A Melody to Remember, a Chorus to Bring People Together
From Tangier to Lagouira, “Aïd Al Wahda” tells the story of a united Morocco, shaped by love for its land, its history and the bonds that bring its people together.
Rooted in Moroccan musical traditions, the song blends the sounds of the oud, violin and traditional percussion with a warm, uplifting melody.
Its catchy, easy-to-remember chorus celebrates “عيد الوحدة الترابية” (“Territorial Unity Day”) and commemorates October 31.
Beyond the celebration itself, “Aïd Al Wahda” is an invitation for generations to share a musical moment. A song parents can pass on to their children, families can sing together and schools can introduce to their students.
Because sometimes, a song can carry an emotion and leave a lasting memory where words alone cannot.
A Song to Listen To, Learn and Sing
To make “Aïd Al Wahda” easy for everyone to discover and share, several versions are available: the original recording, a lyric video and a karaoke version for singing with family and friends.
